Privacy Policy
SilkMoth is a free browser game in which you guide a silk moth through moonlit pagoda gate formations. This policy describes what we observe as the moth drifts through.
1. Information We Collect
Like moonlight filtering through silk, our data presence is delicate and minimal. We may receive:
- Standard browser HTTP request headers sent automatically — your IP address, browser name and version, operating system, and referring URL.
- Your personal best gate count, stored only in your browser's local storage and never transmitted to any server.
- Completely anonymous aggregate session counts that cannot identify any individual player.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use data only to keep the lanterns lit (maintain the game), mend torn silk (fix bugs), and understand general drift patterns. No advertising, no profiling, no data sales.
3. Local Storage and Cookies
Your best drift is stored in local browser storage only. Clear browser data and it dissolves like mist — we retain no server copy.
4. Third-Party Services
Fonts load from Google Fonts via a standard browser HTTP request. No other external services receive your data.
5. Children's Privacy
SilkMoth contains no violent content, no gambling, and no in-app purchases. The moth simply rests when it contacts a gate wall. Suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 13.
6. Data Retention
Server log files are deleted after a limited operational period. Local gameplay data is subject to your own browser settings.
7. Your Rights
Under applicable law you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold. Reach us through the contact form on our website.
8. Security
We apply reasonable technical protections to data we handle. No internet transmission is completely secure.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this policy at any time. Continued play after an update means you accept the revised version.
